报告摘要:

Precipitation in age-hardenable aluminium alloys involves particles of non-spherical shapes, e.g., needles or plates. The classical Kampmann–Wagner Numerical (KWN) precipitation model is modified, deriving correction factors accounting for the particles’ shape. A growth-rate correction is derived from numerical solutions of the diffusion problem for three-dimensional cuboid particles and for axisymmetric rods of various aspect ratios. A second correction is derived for the Gibbs–Thomson effect.

Prof. Bjørn Holmedal is at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway. Bjørn Holmedal (born 1968) has an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from NTH (1992) and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Oslo (1998). He has industrial experience as a researcher in Raufoss Technology (1997-2000), starting as a postdoc at NTNU in 2000. His research areas include:

(1) Metal continuum plasticity theory and modelling

(2) Metal crystal plasticity theory and modelling (including texture)

(3) Thermomechanical processing of alloys

(4) Strengthening and work hardening mechanisms in alloys

(5) Dislocation theory and modelling
